The CNE invites its partners to advance on the starting line of the new 2013 working groups!
As soon as the 22nd of January 2013, the CNE will introduce a first working group entitled “Why products are packaged the way they are?” Through pedagogy and popularization, it will aim to figure out the utility of this mysterious object called packaging (explanation of documents dealing with its functions in products from different markets). A connection will also be made to our eco-design methodological guide.
The following working group called “bulk and packaged products” will consist of a review of the practices implemented by economic stakeholders. The objective will be to identify the opportunities and challenges of distributing products in bulk instead of packaged ones.
“Packaging and e-commerce” will start in the second semester of 2013.
E-commerce, a new mode of distribution and consumption, is no longer an emerging phenomenon but has become a real economic activity. It raises new questions about packaging, which doesn’t fulfill the same functions. We will try to reference and objectivize the associated sources of packaging, and to identify the best practices in the field in order to communicate them to the interested parties.
Finally, the theme “Traceability / Counterfeiting & Packaging” will probably be addressed at the end of the year 2013. This is an important and sensitive theme as users/consumers are concerned by their health: packaging has a positive role to play in the fight against counterfeit products. The CNE will try to take stock on the different functions packaging can have in this field.
